Vienna is Law Enforcement’s Choice Securing the Endorsement of One of the Largest Police Associations in Los Angeles County

San Dimas — December 19 – Today, law enforcement sergeant, public safety commissioner, and leading candidate for San Dimas City Council, Ryan Vienna, announced his candidacy after officially filing papers the previous week.

“San Dimas is a wonderful place to live and raise a family, but like many communities across Southern California progress has taken a back seat to the status quo – that’s why I’m running,” said Ryan Vienna.

“My parents moved to San Dimas in 1984 to raise their family in a safe and quiet community. That’s exactly why my wife and I decided to live here as well, but a lot has changed since my parents first moved here.”

“Crime is on the rise – especially a noticeable uptick in residential burglaries in Via Verde – taxes continue to go up, increased public transportation will soon change the face of the city, and despite the hardest efforts of councilmembers and staff, I still hear stories of dissatisfaction in the city from many residents I speak with.”

“I’m running to make our neighborhoods safe again, to fight any raise in taxes, to ensure that any transportation changes that affect our city are approved by San Dimas residents, and to make it easier to hold your government accountable to you; because you deserve better.”

The Los Angeles County Professional Peace Officers Association (PPOA) announced its endorsement of Ryan Vienna for San Dimas City Council. "Those who know Ryan know he’s the epitome of a public servant – hard working, dedicated, responsible, and caring,” said Brian Moriguchi, President of the Professional Peace Officers Association.

“I know that when he’s elected he will make this city safer for all those who live in San Dimas, and support the small businesses so that this city can prosper.”

PPOA represents nearly 9,000 law enforcement professionals from the LA County Sheriff’s Department, Department of the Coroner, and District Attorney’s Office. The association has been helping to continue the “Tradition of Service” since its inception in 1951.

Ryan Vienna is a Sergeant with the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, a Public Safety Commissioner for the City of San Dimas, and a small business owner. His commitment to public service led him to join the Sheriff’s Department 11 years ago and volunteer for several prestigious assignments. As the Vice Chair of the Public Safety Commission, Ryan has successfully brought the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program to the city, having trained over 60 residents on how to be prepared for natural / manmade disasters.  Ryan earned a Master’s degree from the Sol Price School of Public Policy at the University of Southern California and Bachelor’s degree from the College of Business and Public Management at the University of La Verne.  Ryan and his wife, Dr. Nicole Vienna, live in San Dimas.
